My Review of The Pregnancy Test by Susan Gable

This was one hell of a classic romance. Probably one of the better ones I've read in my lifetime. The book had a lot of funny parts, and I found myself laughing a lot.

The story revolves around three key people: Brook, the 15-year old daughter of Sloan Thompson, Sloan Thompson, the father of Brook and Ashley (who is 7) Thompson, and Jenna Quinn, Sloan's love interest and how they all deal with pregnancy.

Brook gets pregnant first by a senior in high school named Dylan. At first, she wants to have an abortion, but eventually she decides against it. Once she gets farther along in her pregnancy, and after practicing being a mom with a fake electronic baby, Brook decides that adoption would be the best choice for her little one. Once her daughter Emma is born, she gives her to an adoptive family. It is hard on everyone, especially Brook. Eventually Brook heals and is able to deal with the pain of giving her up more easily than she did before.

Jenna is the second one to get pregnant. After playing around with Sloan for a while, keeping their relationship "dessert only" (only sex, no feelings), Jenna gets sick. She becomes suspicious and decides to take a pregnancy test, which comes out positive. Luckily, the original sickness she had was only the stomach flu, but after she gets over it, morning sickness takes over her and she is sick for quite some time. Sloan and Jenna struggle trying to figure out what to do about their relationship. Do they get serious or do they marry each other and make it a family? Jenna doesn't want to marry Sloan only because of Brook not accepting her. She does love Sloan, but cares more about the well-being of Brook. Soon after Brook gives birth, Jenna does to. It ends up being a beautiful baby boy that they name Robbie. About this time also, Brook accepts Jenna and Robbie as part of the family. In the end, when Sloan is given the engagement ring he bought by Ashley, he proposes and Jenna finally says yes.

This is a book that everyone who is old enough to read. I recommend it to anyone looking for comedy and romance all within one great story.
